Megan Ginevicz was last seen playing in the early afternoon on April 30, 1980, in an unfenced yard in a remote, wooded area of St. Ignatius, Montana. Megan's mother was finishing chores, and when she went to join her daughter, Megan was gone.
The house was located in a narrow, thickly forested valley with only one road leading to the home, and neighbors didn't report seeing any strangers or unusual vehicles. For that reason, law enforcement suspected Megan had been either nabbed by a bear or mountain lion, or was washed away in the creek.
No trace of Megan has been found.
