Circumstances of Disappearance

Albert Timmins, a stereo typist with the Irish Independent, was a widower with three children Liam (24), Carol (16) and Tricia (12) when he left to visit a friend 40 years ago. He never returned, seemingly vanished without trace. A year before his disappearance, Albert’s wife Margaret died as a result of a clot following a broken leg. She was aged only 48 years old, and the couple had been married for over 28 years, and lived at St Cronans Avenue, Swords. He had planned to meet a friend who lived in Gaeltacht Part, Santry. He did arrive at his friend and invited him to go for a drink, but the offer was declined. He left to collect his children at 10pm from their grand mother's house but he never came to pick them up. Her daughter thinks he was overcome with his grief and possibly drove himself into the sea. Albert Timmins was driving a white “Wolseley” car, registration number YZU-896 at the time of his disappearance. The car was never found either.
