Cynthia Louise Vanderbeek went missing on March 22, 1995 from Hunter, New York. Her body was found by a jogger on May 1, 1995, in Tuscarora Mountain, Pennsylvania. Due to the efforts of a member of the Doe Network, she was identified in December 2004.
Catherine Ann Mattingly was last seen on November 2, 1987 in Clarksville, Tennessee. In December 2004, seventeen years after she went missing, Catherine saw her case on The Doe Network and contacted her family!
Phillip Dean Sprague was last seen at his residence in College Station, Texas, on September 7, 1985. He was discovered to be missing when a Brazos County Investigator appeared at his home to serve an arrest warrant for an out-of-state drug manufacturing charge. Skeletal remains, which investigators are now all but certain belong to Sprague, were unearthed in November 2004, following a reluctant tip from a former associate of the only suspect. DNA testing is being done to confirm the identity of Phillip Dean Sprague.
Vera Daisy Brown, 46, was last seen in Temora, New South Wales, Australia on February 6, 1972. Police located her alive in November 2004. The month before she disappeared, she had met a mystery man who promised her the world. He convinced her to take a holiday to Brisbane. As the holiday turned into months, Vera and her new beau wrote a handful of confusing letters, promising to be home soon. In November 1972, the letters stopped and Vera was reported missing. Vera says she stayed away so long because her beau convinced her there were debt collectors after them and they had to go into hiding. David Glen Lewis disappeared from Amarillo, Texas on January 30, 1993. He was killed by a hit-and-run driver along state Route 24 near River Road in Yakima County, WA, a day later. He went unidentified until October 2004, when his identity was confirmed through DNA tests. Family members believe he was kidnapped. Lewis had no known ties to Washington state.
Patricia Ann Teer Snyder disappeared in January 1971 from her sister's house. She was suffering from memory problems after an aneurysm and stroke. She was located safe in San Francisco in August 2004.
Stephanie Sempell disappeared from Boca Raton, Florida on March 1, 1976. Skeletal remains were identified as hers through DNA testing in August 2004. The bones were located in December, 1976 in Grassy Key, FL. mtDNA testing with the long bones of the decedent and samples taken from Stephanie's mother and sister completed the identification. This kind of identification is called persuasive or exclusionary. It means the preponderance of evidence points to her. The cause of death is undetermined. All concerned suspect homicide but there is no physical evidence from the remains to support it at this time.
David Churchill Jackson was missing since June 25, 1988 from Pembroke Pines, Florida. He was located deceased on June 25, 1989, 14 months after he disappeared. His body was identified in June 2004 using DNA. Investigators credit the Missing Persons Unit, Sgt. Michael Arnett, Sgt. Darryl Curtiss and Detective Donna Velazquez for bringing closure to Jackson's family.
Donna Lisa Williamson was missing since August 3, 1982 from Fort Worth, Texas. A DNA database identified skeletal remains found in Johnson County in 1993 as those of the missing woman. She was identified in June 2004.
Elisabeth Brichet, 12, was abducted in Namen, Belgium on December 20, 1989. She was located deceased in July 2004.
Larry James was missing since 1979 from St. Anthony, Minnesota. Due to the efforts of the members of the Doe Network, James was located safe in May 2004, living in another state.
John David Clough left New Jersey in the 80's to go to California, and wasn't reported missing until 1997 by a relative. He was located deceased in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1988. Due to the efforts of the members of the Doenetwork he was identified in April 2004.
Teressa Ann Williams had been missing since July 1, 1988 from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Missing Womens Task Force announced on January 29, 2004, that her DNA was linked to remains found in Vancouver in 1988.
Anna Grabarz had been missing since February 2, 1996 from Kolonia Kijany, Poland. She was located deceased on January 6, 2004 a few miles away from her family home.
Dori Lynne Andres, 22, disappeared on December 22, 1994 from Petaluma, California. Her skull was found on January 30, 2004 off Highway 175 in Hopland. Her death is being investigated as a possible homicide. No further information is available.
Leigh Hainline Bonadies was last seen on September 8, 1969 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Gerard John Schaefer was named as the prime suspect in Bonadies' disappearance when authorities found her gold locket in Schaefer's possession at the time of his arrest in the 1970's. Schaefer was never charged in connection with Bonadies' case. Bonadies' remains were found in the subdivision of Boca Del Mar which was under construction at the time in Boca Raton, FL in January 1978. She was positively identified in 2004.
Debra Joy Donnachy disappeared from Armadale, Western Australia on May 14 . Her remains were located in Karragullen in 2004.
Leila and Mohammed Elmergawi were abducted by their father from Brooklyn, New York on May 20, 1988. They was located safe in 2004.
Robert Christian Fuller was reported as missing as of January 1, 1988 from Abilene, Taylor County, Texas. This case was resolved in late 2004 or early 2005. No other information is available.
Sharika Keshara Johnson was last seen on July 4, 1991 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was located safe in 2004.
Stian Vatnehol Leerstang was last seen in Porsgrunn, Norway, on June 8, 1997. He was found deceased in 2004, an apparent falling accident.
Ernest Lopez was missing since September 10, 1993 from Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was located safe in 2004.
Felipe Lopez was missing since April 13, 1992 from Fresno, California. He was located in 2004.
Phillip Pheuahakphai, missing since November 22, 1995 from Kansas City, Kansas, was located in 2004.
Melissa Maria Samaniego, age 6, went missing from New York in 1994. She was recovered safely in 2004.
Anthony Blake Zimmerman was last seen on February 20, 1990 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was located safe in 2004.
Walter Arlington Morales Jr., 17, was last seen in Miami, Florida on October 27, 1993. His remains were located in Richland County, South Carolina in 1993. He remained unidentified until 2004, when investigators, Brian A. Metz and Gene Mincey of the Richland County Sheriff's Department checked the Doe Network.
