Howard's great-niece had tracked Boulder historian Silvia Pettem's Web site on the Jane Doe mystery and thought the unidentified woman could be her aunt. Aleksander Alferov The victim was located on November May 24, 2007 in Hamilton Township, Warren County, Ohio. Investigators believed he was beaten with a blunt object inside his apartment 6 1/2 years earlier, before his body was dumped alongside the rural Warren County road. Hamilton Township detectives worked with the Interpol Investigation Agency to secure DNA samples with Alferov's family in Moscow. Those samples were sent to a crime lab in Dallas, where the positive identification was made. |
