In 1978, 16-year-old Sandra Kay Butler was living with her mother in an apartment at Fourth and Greenbrae in Sparks. She moved here from California and was attending Reed High School. On June 23rd, her mother left for work. She got a call later that day from Sandra asking permission to ride her bike to the Reno Rodeo. Her mother said yes and she never saw her again.
