Jeanne Marie Scrima
Vital Statistics
Case History
Jeanne Marie Scrima was last seen in Erie, Pennsylvania on March 19, 1980. She was en route to her farmhouse in Knox, New York, at the time of her disappearance.
She had promised her four children she would be there when they came home from school. She never arrived at her home and has not been heard from again.
Investigators wanted to question Scrima's husband, whom she was planning to leave, but he refused to cooperate. He was aware of where she was and that she was with
her new boyfriend. He never reported his wife missing to the police. Scrima's lawyer, reported her missing on May 4, 1980, after he was unable to get in touch with her.
Scrima's boyfriend, who was the last person to see her, is not a suspect in her disappearance. Two days before her disappearance, the couple drove her car to Erie
where he had business. They stayed at the Hilton Hotel. She told her husband that she was visiting friends or relatives.
State Police, using dogs and helicopters, searched extensively on state land near Scrima's property in Knox and elsewhere.
Scrima's light blue 1977 Lincoln Continental (NY vehicle registraton 458LXS) was discovered abandoned several weeks after she was reported missing. Her vehicle was
seen several weeks after her disappearance in the Montgomery County, New York area. It was also seen in Ohio, where it passed through several hands before ending
up abandoned in Oakland County, Michigan on October 5, 1980. No evidence was found from the car. Foul play is suspected.
