Owen was last seen on June 28, 1994 at 730am at his residence. On June 29, 1994 a witness spoke to him near the Manoa Falls Trail. Hundreds of volunteers searched in vain for the him. Owen is from Texas. He was working at a Waikiki restaurant at the time and went hiking. Owen's disappearance appears to be a hiking accident and investigators believe there was no foul play. Authorities found Owen's bicycle at the foot of the Manoa Falls trail. He was believed to be carrying a maroon backpack at the time. Owen liked to climb to the highest point of his destination. It is speculated that he may have fallen, possibly in a deep valley pocket.
