Farrell was last seen after she dropped her children off at a home in Live Oak, California on October 27, 1993. She said she would return later to pick them up.
Farrell's 1988 dark blue Ford Escort was found at 21.40 on October 31, 1993, in dense brush off of Lower French Creek Road, at the bottom of a canyon, near Berry Creek. Authorities reported that the steering wheel was bent forward as if someone was in the car when it wrecked. The Ford appeared to have been pushed over the ravine and hit a tree, with the rear window missing and the windshield cracked.
It was not determined if the car had been abandoned and pushed over by vandals - numerous parts were stripped off the car - or done intentionally to cover up possible foul play.
