On February 28, 1981 at approximately 3:00 P.M., Brian Bleyl was last seen in the area of North 9th Avenue and West Myrtle Avenue as he left on his bicycle to complete his newspaper route. In 1989 a man was charged with Brian’s abduction and murder, despite the fact Brian’s body was never recovered. This man was acquitted in a jury trial of the charges and subsequently died in 1994, still denying he had anything to do with Brian’s disappearance. Brian is believed to be a victim of foul play but his body has never been recovered.
