Vital Statistics

  • Estimated age: 22 - 29 years old
  • Approximate Height and Weight: 5'2 - 5'6" (64" est); 100 -115 lbs.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Possibly Native heritage. Medium-length reddish brown hair. She had an extra vertebra and there was some evidence of back problems.
  • Jewelry: A white metal ring, size 5 3/8, the face of the ring is a depiction of a bird, turquoise in color with a red tail worn on the little finger of the left hand. Some jewelry was found near the body and believed to be hers. A earring is gold plated. Both pieces appear to be similar to jewelry worn by the Native Americans or those in the Southwest United States.
  • Skeletal Findings: Septa aperture right humerus; sternal body exhibits an anterior curvature; extra lumbar vertebra fused to sacrum.
  • Fingerprints: Not Available
  • Dentals: Available She has dental fillings that could help identify her. Tooth #3, silver amalgam occlusal and lingual surfaces; Tooth #14, silver amalgam lingual surface; Teeth #15 & 18, amalgam on occlusal surfaces; Teeth #1, 16, 17 and 32 not seen, may be antemortem loss or congenital absence.

Case History
The victim was found December 22, 1991 lying in a wooded area in a driveway leading into a field near Vinton, just south of Interstate 10.
She may be from Texas or other points farther west.
