  • Case History

The victim was found floating approximately five feet from the shore of the Ohio river. The area is located just west of Cincinnati and, approximately, five miles east of the Indiana state line.

There were no signs of foul play. The autopsy indicated that she may have jumped, or fallen off of a high structure into the river, causing her death. Police say one possibility is riverboat tour. There were lots of them in days before Thanksgiving. The boats go about 7 miles out.

Missing persons reports were checked in the Tristate area of Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky to no avail.

UPDATE - She was identified as Barbara Hess via fingerprints in 2014.
