Circumstances of Disappearance
Meyer, 40, left Maine in October 1988 to come to Colorado and later began working as a volunteer camp host for the U.S. Forest Service. Richard Meyer was last seen in Nederland, Colorado on July 30, 1989 in route to his residence in Columbine Campground near Central City. He has gone to church and then eaten lunch with a friend. His dog and car, a red 1978 Dodge Monaco station wagon with brown sides, also disappeared.
