Circumstances of Disappearance

Norma was reported missing by her 30-year-old son who lived with her. He told police his mother was upset by the death of her husband three weeks prior. Shortly before noon on February 2, 1979, he found a note from his mother explaining she was headed to Los Angeles to get away for a while, not to bother looking for her, and someday she'll get in touch. She left without her checkbook, money from her bank account, or jewelry.
