Circumstances of Discovery

An older model Ford F-150 was found parked along the roadside of Highway 116 and Main Street outside of Belen city limits. The New Mexico State Patrol had the vehicle towed to a tow yard in Belen on October 25, 2005.

On January 11, 2006, staff at the yard were contacted by a couple who had come to see the vehicle. When the couple came to the truck, they were overheard saying, "It's still there". The couple informed the staff they would come back and pay for the storage and claim the vehicle at a later date. After they left, the worker who overheard them went to look in the vehicle to see what the couple was talking about. When the worker looked in the truck, he came across the mandible laying on the floor of the cab of the pickup.

The vehicle came back registered to a female from Belen with an address that was not valid. Vin of the vehicle was 1FTC15H7FPBO7739 with plate 324 JYH.
