• Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'11"; 282 lbs.
• Distinguishing Characteristics: White male. Brown hair; hazel eyes. He wears glasses and has a full beard and mustache.
• Marks, Scars: 2-3" "V" shaped scar on the back of his hand.
• Clothing: over cotton shirt and possible blue trousers.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Brian Helmuth was last seen June 14, 1999, at the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) where he works. Helmuth told a coworker at the University that he was going to see a movie. He hasn't been heard from since. The man's father, reported him missing four days later.

On June 15, 1999, a subject matching Helmuth's description was seen boarding a ferry in Bremerton, Washington.
Suicide is a possibility.
