Angel Torres was last seen in the Old Orchard Beach/downtown Biddeford area of Maine at about 02:00, where he was visiting friends. Police believe Torres took a bus from Massachusetts to visit friends in Biddeford, where he last was seen. He was reportedly looking for a ride to Conway, New Hampshire. Three days later, his girlfriend called his parents when he didn't show up for work.
His parents last heard from their son on the evening of May 19, when he called to wish them a happy wedding anniversary. Torres usually called home weekly. He lived in Denmark, Maine, and attended college in Massachusetts. Torres, a business student, had just completed his junior year when he disappeared. Angel was reported missing by his family on May 24, 1999. Foul play is suspected.
