Circumstances of Disappearance
Armstrong was last seen in Maryborough on 7 May 1997. He was seen outside the Commonwealth Bank in Maryborough that morning and was later seen by a friend during the afternoon. He was reported as a missing person to Maryborough Police on 22 May 1997.
He was a known identity in Maryborough and was often seen in local hotels and cafes. He had lived in Maryborough for three years, when he moved from his hometown in Victoria.
When he disappeared he was unemployed, and was staying with friends.
Armstrong was intellectually challenged and was known to police for minor drug offences.
It is strongly believed that foul play is involved.
