James was last seen in Felton, where he owned a house and worked for a utility company. He called in sick the day of his disappearance.
The day he vanished, his white four-wheel-drive truck was found on San Lorenzo Way in Felton near the San Lorenzo River. It was parked near a land slide, where Bierman did emergency pipe repairs several days before he vanished. He’d put Post-Its all over the dash to remind him of daily tasks.
Deputies searched the riverbank and found nothing.
