Circumstances of Disappearance

Mr. Sites was last heard from on July 26th, 1996 when he spoke to a family member via telephone. He vanished right before he was to testify in a murder-for-hire scheme. Mr. Sites left behind cash, clothes, and his vehicle at his home. He was a known drug dealer and confidential police informant.

According to court records, drug dealer Jeffrey Sean Hamilton paid Kenneth Ezell several thousand dollars to kill Sites, who owed Hamilton a substantial amount of money. According to confidential informants, Ezell beat Sites until he was unconscious, shot him twice in the back of the head, and buried his body out in the woods in the Crystal River area. Ezell was found not guilty of first-degree murder, but was convicted of conspiracy to murder and sentenced to nine years imprisonment. He was paroled in 2005. August 5, 1996 is also cited in some sources as the date last seen.
