Megan Siobhan Emerick
Missing since July 7, 1973 from Seward, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska.
Classification: Endangered Missing
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance
Emerick was last seen walking away from her home in Seward, Alaska on July 7, 1973. Megan went to do her laundry at the girls' dormitory at the Skill Center. Witnesses spotted her at the dorm after she finished. She walked out and was never seen again. She left all of her belongings behind. A person she lived with searched for three days before reporting her disappearance to police.
Emerick had moved from the quiet town of Delta Junction to attend school at the new Seward Skill Center, now the Alaska Vocational Technical Center. It looked likely Megan had met with foul play, but there was no evidence to support it. Confessed serial killer Robert Hansen is a suspect in the case.
