Circumstances of Discovery

New York State Police responded to the east bank of the Moodna Creek, located off State Route 32 in the Town of Cornwall, Orange County, NY to investigate a report of an apparent deceased body being located at that location.

Police suspect his body was dumped on the banks of the Moodna Creek. The man's lifeless, partially decomposed body was lying face up on the eastern bank of the Moodna and large dead tree branches were on him. There were no visible bullet holes or stab wounds. Toxicology reports didn't show any poisons in his system. He had a .21 blood alcohol content at the time of his death.

An autopsy revealed that the man's face may have been intentionally disfigured to hide his identity. One hand may have been sliced off with a sharp instrument. The other may have been beaten off with a blunt object.

Investigators believe the man is from the New York City area.
