  • Discovered on November 29, 2001 in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Cause of death was drowning


Vital Statistics

  • Estimated age: 25 - 40 years old
  • Approximate Height and Weight: 5'9"; 250-300 lbs.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Brown shoulder length hair; brown eyes. X-rays shows the victim has a pin in her left ankle from a previous fracture.
  • Clothing: Dark floral print, mid-thigh length pull over shirt or sun dress, black stretch pants with heel straps, green socks, a black jacket and tan Rockport shoes.
  • Jewelry: A distinctive silver colored ring with a crucifix design worn on the left ring finger. It was well worn and on the inside has numbers 926 with a square next to the numbers that may have been mfg. engraving that is worn away.
  • Other: Her autopsy report showed positive for Quetiapine, a medicine used to treat schizophrenia
  • Dentals: Available. She has a small space between her front teeth.
  • DNA: Entered in CODIS

Case History
On November 29, 2001, a jogger discovered a female drowning victim floating face down in the canal just west of Central Avenue and north of Indian School Road.
It is believed that the victim went into the canal somewhere east of Central Avenue. Detective estimated she could only have entered the canal between 13th & 16th Avenue.
It is possible she resided in a treatment facility or some type of group home.
