Donna Bester was last seen on her way to her sisters home in Toronto, where she was staying at the time. Her boyfriend was the last person to see her that day. He was taking her home to her sister and as he stopped at a stop light Donna jumped out of the car and said she would get there herself. The police cleared the boyfriend of any involvement in her disappearance. Donna's sisters filed a report with the police when, after a couple of days, Donna didn't reemerge. Since the circumstances weren't suspicious, police had no reason to suspect she met with foul play.
Donna was struggling with depression at the time of her disappearance.
She is from a very large family in Kitchener, and was working in a child care center in Toronto before she disappeared.
Bester's case still remains open with the Toronto Police Service.
