On the afternoon of Thursday, July 28, 2005, a woman walking her dog along an abandoned train track near Dufferin Avenue and Parkside Drive in the City of Brantford, found a deceased full term baby boy wrapped in a towel. On August 3, 2005, investigators received a letter from someone who claimed to be the mother. Excerpts from this letter were released to the public in case someone would recognize the handwriting. The writer explained she was a teen who hid her pregnancy and she didn't know the baby had been born alive. The placenta from the birth was also found in someone's backyard. DNA profiles were established for both parents. The baby was nicknamed "Baby Parker" and was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery.
