Tasha Wright disappeared from the Valley Glen Apartments on Hollybush Drive off Ferguson Road in east Dallas. She walked to a neighbor's apartment between 10:30 and 10:50 a.m. to deliver a message for her mother. She arrived at the neighbor's apartment, but never made it back to her own. There is an unconfirmed report that she may have been seen in the breezeway of a nearby apartment shortly after her disappearance. Other reports state she was seen staring at some bushes some 30 feet away from her apartment shortly before she disappeared.
Police searched the vicinity using helicoptors and search dogs but found nothing. Neighbors searched a 5-mile radius.
Wright was a fourth-grade student at Bayles Elementary School in 1989, and was in the gifted and talented program. She enjoyed music, dancing and swimming.
