Missing since July 12, 1980 from Parrametta, New South Wales Australia.
Classification: Endangered Missing
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance
Jamieson and her friend, Deborah Balken,
were last seen at 19.30 on Saturday, June 12, 1980, leaving
the Tollgate Hotel in Church Street, Parramatta, New South Wales, with a man dressed
in dirty work clothes and wearing a floppy black cowboy-style hat.
Ninety minutes after the pair left the hotel, Balkan made a brief phone call to their
fellow flatmate, Susan Gilchrist, saying they would not be home for a prearranged dinner
and that they were in Wollongong.
They planned to hitchhike
from Thirroul station, near Wollongong, to Sydney.
Neither of the women, who worked as nurses in Sydney, have been seen or heard from since that time. They had a history of hitchhiking and experimenting with drugs.
