Circumstances of Disappearance

Siems was last seen in Jupiter, Florida on June 7, 1990. He drove a gray 1988 Pontiac Sunbird . The car, its windows smashed, was found July 4 in the Ocala National Forest. It appeared to have been in an accident.

Siems, of 115 Beverly Road, had told neighbors he was going to visit relatives in either Alabama or New Jersey, but he never arrived. His niece reported him missing June 22.

He retired two years earlier after 38 years in the merchant marine and was a volunteer counselor with a church group. His wife was visiting relatives in Europe when he disappeared.

He is believed to be a victim of the serial killer, Aileen Wuornos . He was a part-time missionary on his way to visit relatives in Arkansas.

Police sketches of two women fitting the descriptions of Aileen Wuornos and Tyria Moore were circulated after witnesses saw the pair wreck Siems´ car near Orange Springs in July 1990. Wuornos stated his body was somewhere in Georgia.

Peter Siems has not been located.
