Circumstances of Discovery

A teenager riding an all-terrain vehicle found the decedent's body lying face down in the woods, about a half mile from Bloomer Road near the Garden Street Elementary School. The body was mostly covered in snow and ice. His death was ruled a suicide due to self-inflicted wounds found on his wrists.

He was described as a medium complected Black or Hispanic, well-dressed, well-groomed, and wore a gold crucifix around his neck. He carried no identification and had $1,158 separated in multiple pants pockets. He also had a Metro-North ticket indicating he had traveled to Brewster on the Harlem line from lower Westchester. There was a receipt from The Curtain Shop on Main Street in New Rochelle in one pocket. He had purchased two expensive blankets there on October 7, two days before his body was found. Employees at the shop did not remember the man having any noticeable accent.
