Circumstances of Discovery

On 20 January 1997, one left human innominate was recovered from 3327 Freeman Hill Road, Johns Island. A complainant reported that her dog went into an unknown location in a wooded area outside her residence and returned with the innominate. The complainant originally notified the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office who then contacted the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
