Diane's family was living at 15 rue du Porche, Place Royale sector, near the Old Port of Quebec. On September 27, 1963, Diane's mother sent her to pick up her older brother, who was playing outside with his friends at a nearby park, to notify him to come home for supper. Her brother returned home alone, without meeting Diane on the way. When the brother arrived without Diane, their mother sent the brother to look for her but could not find her. The father searched around the docks but found no trace of Diane. Around 5:45 p.m., the family called police. Diane has not been seen since her disappearance.
