Becker was last seen in Oak Harbor, WA on November 5, 1992. At the time of his disappearance, Becker was living with a friend in Anacortes, WA and had enrolled in Anacortes High School. He reportedly ran with the wrong crowd and used drugs. He was facing time in juvenile detention after being arrested for burglary. Becker wanted to stay away from home because his mother's boyfriend was abusive to him.
Becker was last seen hitchhiking just outside of Anacortes, apparently on his way to Oak Harbor, WA to make peace with his mother. His mother and sisters didn't know he was on his way home. His mother first realized that Becker was missing when she made a call to his home in Anacortes to talk to him. She then reported his disappearance to the Island County Sheriff's Office. Becker never came home and there's no record of him showing up anywhere else. He left his wallet, ID and personal belongings in his trailer.
