Aaron Anderson was last seen at approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 7, 1989, in Pine City, MN. His mother was cooking dinner and was keeping an eye on him through the window as he played outside in the yard of his family's home. At one point, his mother looked up and he was gone.
Authorities focused their search on the Snake River, which ran right behind the Anderson home, about 150 feet from their back doorstep. A bloodhound was brought in and tracked his scent to the river. For over a week, search and rescue teams canvased 6 miles of the river but found no trace of him. The bloodhound also traced his scent around the property, away from the river. When it was tracking his scent, it went across the adjoining property, up their driveway and down the dirt road.
