In early 1979, Ms. Dunn traveled to San Diego, California; she was in the company of at least one female friend from Las Vegas. The friend who eventually returned to Las Vegas told investigators that she and Ms. Dunn had travelled to California to act as prostitutes. Ms. Dunn and her companion were in the company of two men. At least one of the men was believed to be acting as their pimp.
