Jodi, an anchor at KIMT television station in Mason City, disappeared outside her apartment around 4:00 a.m. on June 27, 1995, as she was leaving for work. She was scheduled to be at work at 3:00 a.m. Her producer called Jodi around 4 a.m. and Jodi told her she overslept and would be arriving shortly; she lived approximately 5 minutes from the station. When Jodi didn't arrive by 4:30 a.m. the producer called her again and left a message. By 7 a.m. the police were called.
