Stanley Post, an IBM customer service employee, was last seen about 08.00 on March 24, 1990 in the morning by his roommates when he left in his truck towing his 16-foot boat in Imperial Beach, CA.
Post left Shelter Island in his 16-foot boat but failed to return that night as expected. His car and trailer were found parked near the launch ramp. Post was reported missing by his supervisor. Post told his wife, from whom he was separated, he was going fishing. When he didn't report to work, she went looking for him and found his truck and empty trailer at the Shelter Island public boat launching ramp.
The boat has a white hull with green stripe and an outboard motor. Painted on the bow is the registration number 6690EC.
