On September 25, 1994 Jerry Yell was visiting an aunt in Ardmore. She had been working in a storage facility in Lone Grove. She returned to a friend's home in Ardmore and stated that she planned to return to the storage area to rearrange things and then would return to her residence in Oklahoma City. Yell never returned to her home in Oklahoma City.
Her 1989 Lincoln Mark VII was discovered abandoned, in a North Commerce Street parking lot, on September 26, 1994. Her driver's license has never been renewed.
