Vital Statistics
Case History
The partially decomposed body was pulled from a well on property on Recknor Road.
The property owner was cleaning out the old well, which once served an old school in the Recknor community, to water livestock when he discovered a large sheet of polyethylene plastic inside. He pulled it up and saw what appeared to be part of a body in the water.
Police believe the person or persons who dumped the body in the well on the dirt parish road that serves as a cutoff between state highways 6 and 191 was familiar with the area.
It was determined the victim's skull has been fractured just prior to his death, and he possibly had been stabbed in the back twice with a large knife.
He may have have had some type of medical treatment prior to his death because a urine cup was among the items recovered.
