China Rose Sims
Missing since February 14, 1993 from Southend, Essex, England, United Kingdom.
Classification: Missing

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance
China Rose Sims was born in the Philippines and met her English husband, David John Sims (pictured below), while he was in the country on a business trip. He is believed to be a self-employed furniture dealer. The couple married in 1988 and moved to the UK, buying a house in Lonsdale Road, Southend in 1991.

Rose was last seen at a family party on February 14, 1993, although her husband was seen, apparently alone, two months later at their Southend home.

Concern for Rose has grown, because it was known at the time of her disappearance that she was unhappy with her marriage and wanted to leave her husband. She was also aware that her father, to whom she was very close, was in poor health at his home in the Philippines, but she has not been in touch with her family to check on his progress.

David Sims was 56 years old in 1993, described as 5'11" tall with short graying receding hair, which may be dyed black. He has brown eyes, a fresh complexion, is of stocky build and is generally of casual appearance. He has a south Essex accent.
