Hikers found the victim's body, naked and covered with a layer of leaves in a pit near the parking area along the A12 at Heul But Bergen, a car park which now no longer exists. More recent analysis indicated that she is younger than originally thought. It was also discovered that for a long period of time her daily diet had no variety, which may be consistent with poverty or kidnapping. She may be from another country. Isotope research indicates that she may have lived in the German Eifel regions and that she may have been in Eastern Europe at least four months prior to her death. Investigators have indications that two men between 30 and 40 years old were responsible for dumping the victim's body.
