On the night he disappeared, Luke went out with two friends. Knowing it would be a late night, he had arranged to have the next day off from work. He rode his motorbike to his friend's house in Woodbridge and left it there along with his cell phone. The three friends caught a train to Ipswich and went to Zest, a nightclub on Princess Street.
Later, one of the friends went home and Luke lost contact with the other friend who had gone to the bar. Luke is believed to have left the club at 2 a.m. At around 3:40 a.m. he tried to get a cab at Hawk Express in Old Foundry Road but was advised to try the bus station. CCTV footage shows Luke walking across a street, then three minutes later, at 4 a.m. he is seen walking across a zebra crossing on Dog's Head Street (see photo). That was the last known sighting of Luke.
Suffolk Police are interesting in knowing who was driving a white or silver Volvo 440 on Orwell Place at 4:09 a.m. on May 12, 2006 (see photo). The plate number M2606 LYE, was registered under a false name and address. It was seen just minutes after the last CCTV image of Luke.
