The victim was on board of a boat called 'Professeur Emile Lagarde' chartered by Fraissinet Fabre Company. At that time they were at the south of Juby Cape. He disappeared at this position : 27°24'00. 0''N13°30'00.0''W. He was last seen around 18:00 lying on his bed with the door open, talking to his chief. 20 minutes later he was not on board anymore. The boat turned around without any success. They searched thoroughly every room. The crew thought he would have fallen into the sea for an undefined reason. They talked about the left rear of the boat without any certainty. The vaccines for Africa made him feverish and delirious a few weeks earlier. But when he embarked in Marseilles on January 26, 1956 he seemed cured. The Captain gave up the search after only 1 hour.
