Steven went missing on 28 December 1992 while walking with his family at Marske-by-the-Sea in Cleveland.
Steven's mother Doris had accompanied him on a walk on Saltburn beach just after the Christmas of 1992 when, just as they were about to head home, he said he wanted to pop to the toilet. As he went into the gents, Doris went into the ladies. It was the last time she saw her son.
There was nothing to suggest he had any kind of problem. A childhood accident had left him without the use of his left hand and with minor learning problems, but to all the world he was a happy, smiling young man who took life in his stride.
