Monk was last seen about 6:30pm on Saturday, June 12, 1993, he lived at Wallsend with his parents, who said their son was normally very reliable.
He dropped his girlfriend home at 6.30pm that night, then drove to the Shell service station at Hexham and filled his car with petrol. He then drove to Raymond Terrace and bought food at McDonald's Restaurant at about 7pm.
After he left the Wallsend area and has not been seen since. He also took no clothing with him and concerns are held for his welfare.
His car, a 1977 matt black Mazda 929 station wagon, was found at Barrington Tops about a month after his disappearance. The car had run into a tree and had been slightly damaged and was vandalised, with the windows smashed and roof walked on.
Since his disappearance no money has been drawn from his bank accounts and no new leads have been found.
